Vetting
There is an implicit duty of care on the police service, and indeed the approved organisation, to ensure that all personnel engaged in the delivery of CSAS and RSAS display the highest level of integrity. This is the underpinning principle of CSAS/RSAS: to provide the highest level of safety for the public, and the protection of sensitive information/data.
Who needs to be vetted?
To achieve approved status, all Directors on Companies House must apply for a police vetting clearance as well as the nominated Authorised Signatory (if not a Director).
Employees seeking accreditation must only apply for vetting clearance once organisational approved status has been achieved.
How to apply for vetting
Vetting for private sector organisations is undertaken by the Police National Vetting Service (PNVS), hosted by Warwickshire Police.
Organisations must register on the vetting portal in order to begin submitting applicants.
Prior to registration, organisations should first visit the PNVS website which contains lots of useful information, guidance, and self-help.

Important Information
When registering for the portal, under 'Contract Information', it essential that in answer to the question 'Which POLICE FORCE(S) are you actively engaging with?' you answer: 'Police CPI CSAS/RSAS'. Do not enter the force you wish to achieve accreditation with.
Upon registration, there is an initial limit set for 10 applications per month. Should you require more than this, it is essential you complete the Forecast form (found in Useful Documents).
Director Vetting
Once all Directors have been vetted, you must submit all vetting clearance certificates to Police CPI. An application for approved status will not progress until the vetting has been completed.
You will be able to download a spreadsheet of all clearances from the portal. This can be submitted to Police CPI alongside the clearance certficates.
Employee Vetting
Please note that some forces will not accept a vetting clearance from the Police National Vetting Service. It is important for organisations to know whether a force will accept national vetting.
